May is here, Happy Mother’s Day (see exciting Mother’s Day & Stress Management Workshop Offers below)!
May brings with it, sunnier days, warmer weather and hopefully more time outside. This entry into summer time does wonders for those who found the cold grey winter so challenging.
Even though the nicer weather is good for the spirits, we still have plenty of mental/emotional stress. How do you deal with your stress?
Tips For Dealing with Your Stress
- If possible, remove yourself from the stressful situation/environment.
- Have a place you can go to relax – create an environment at work, home, in your car, … where you have relaxing sounds/music, aromas, lighting … Create a place that makes it easy for you to relax and use it.
- Relaxation, Visualization & Deep Breathing – relaxation and visualization techniques will be at the core of your stress management efforts and can make all the difference in the world. Slow deep breathing is tremendously relaxing and can change your physiology very quickly.
- Exercise, Tai Chi, Meditation or Yoga – clearing the mind and deep cleansing breaths can do wonders for stress reduction. Physical activity puts your focus on your body taking the focus off of what is processing in your head.
- Eat healthy, supplement properly & drink plenty of water – keeping your body supplied with good nutrition and well hydrated with water allows your body to handle stress better.
- Be Organized and Prepared – know what you want and have a plan. Reducing uncertainty reduces stress.
- Change Your Paradigms – altering the way you perceive your environment and how you let things affect you is truly getting to the source of stress management. This is very difficult but is a MUST if you want to win the battle with stress.
- Regular Chiropractic Care – your nerve system controls how you manage your stress so having regular chiropractic check-ups will keep your nerve system functioning at its best and help you manage stress better.
